HOW TO USE THE INVENTORY

Complete a questionnaire so that each member of the team is represented by a single column.

Rank the team skills from 8 (most evident contribution) to 1 (least evident contribution). It is usually best to record the scores before transferring them to the questionnaire so those members are not influenced by other entries.

Close agreement on a 7 or 8 ranking indicates a teamworking skill strength, while close agreement on a 2 or 1 score suggests either a possible weakness or that the skill concerned is not particularly relevant to the current work of the team.

The most versatile team members are likely to find their assessments contain much divergence of opinion. This is not a suggestion of mediocrity, but rather the recognition that the member concerned is a flexible contributor capable of leading or supporting in several styles.
