The coaching managerial style has the primary objective of the long-term professional development of employees.

When using this style, a manager:

• Helps employees identify their current performance strengths and weaknesses

• Works with employees to establish development goals in light of their strengths and weaknesses

• Uses listening and open-ended questions to encourage employees to solve their own work problems
